Beautiful May is here. It brings warmer days. It brings TWO bank holidays. Flowers are popping up everywhere. It’s also National Smile Month. And not by chance—it’s time for the Ropetackle summer programme!

Expect brand-new shows and old favourites. There are films, talks, and top comedy names. Think Chris McCausland, Jack Dee, Bridget Christie, Alexei Sayle, and more. You’ll also hear a cacophony of great music.

This month also brings a lively new improv show: Glamazon Prime. It’s sharp. It’s silly. It’s full of energy. This award-winning, all-female group turns your favourite films into brand-new musicals—right on the spot. Expect live music, camp comedy, and playful pop culture twists.

How it works:
The audience suggests films. Two are picked at random from a “special delivery.” The audience votes for their favourite. Then the cast and band jump straight in. They create a full musical on the spot. No script. No safety net. Just pure movie-musical magic:

Clare from Glamazon Prime told us how it works behind the scenes.

“We’ve worked together for years. Some of us for over a decade. We know each other very well. Trust comes naturally,” she says. “We used to perform as NOTFLIX: The Improvised Musical back in 2016. Our rule is simple: make your scene partner look good. We never leave anyone floundering.

“The hardest part is remembering everything. You have to track each scene and bring ideas back later. It takes real focus. We love it when we can return to the opening chorus at the end. It’s difficult, but when it works, it feels like magic!
