Ropetackle is run by a small team of creative arts professionals, a dedicated Board of Trustees, and an incredible band of 80+ volunteers on bar, box office, and front of house. We are also supported by a passionate Film Committee who manage the film programme.

Meet Our Team
Mark is responsible for the smooth running of the Centre, working across all areas from programming to operations. He was previously Ropetackle’s Marketing Manager, before travelling abroad and working for several major festivals in Australia and New Zealand, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Nicky is responsible for the overall marketing of Ropetackle events, developing audiences and raising Ropetackle’s profile in the wider community. She previously worked as a journalist in the UK and Spain and enjoys singing and writing fiction in her spare time (when she gets some!)
Nicky Thornton
/ Marketing Manager
Mia is responsible for the smooth running of the box office as well as providing admin support across all areas of operations. She also ensures we have plenty of biscuits in the office! She previously trained as an actress. In her spare time she likes to write, play tennis, and explore all the wonderful places that Sussex has to offer.

/ Admin and Box Office Assistant
Anna provides marketing support for Ropetackle events and activities. She is responsible for our social media channels, digital content creation, and promotional activity. She recently completed a Masters in Digital Marketing at Brighton University and is an experienced circus performer and workshop leader.

Lucy is responsible for our bookkeeping and internal financial reporting, including payment of suppliers, settlements, invoicing, and financial analysis. She has had a long career in finance but is relatively new to the arts sector.

Tom is responsible for all technical aspects at Ropetackle, including the smooth running of shows and managing the team of freelance technicians. As one of the longest serving members of staff, he has a wealth of experience at the venue and has played a key role in the technical upgrades over the years.

Antonia is responsible for managing our front of house operations, including our wonderful team of Duty Managers. She also works with artists to ensure their experience is just as enjoyable as the audience! Antonia is a trained actor and loves gardening.

Marah is responsible for our business partnerships, be it via sponsorship or other forms of collaboration. She also looks after our Patrons and Friends scheme. She has worked in the arts and business sectors throughout her career and trained at Central School of Speech and Drama as part of her degree.

/ Development Manager
Richard helps keep Ropetackle in ship shape, looking after venue maintenance and facilities, and assisting with general operations. Richard is also a longstanding volunteer.
Richard Behling
/ Caretaker
Douglas is responsible for maintaining the Ropetackle bars, managing stock and upkeep, as well as staff and volunteer training. Douglas is also a longstanding volunteer.

/ Bar Manager
Guy helps set up the venue for each event and activity, laying out the chairs and tables, restocking the bar, and assisting with general upkeep of the Centre.
