Booking Information

Our regular Box Office opening hours are Monday – Saturday, 10am-4pm, and from one hour before that start of each show. We are closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

You can reach the Box Office by visiting us in person, calling 01273 464440, or emailing: boxoffice@ropetacklecentre.co.uk

You can book online, in person, or over the phone. Where possible, we prefer contactless payments in person.

Gift and credit vouchers can be used pay across all channels. Find out more.

We are no longer printing and posting physical tickets. Instead, you will receive a booking confirmation by email at the time of booking.

On the day: your name will be on a door list, and you will be checked in upon arrival. There is no need to print your confirmation email.

If you require physical printed tickets, please contact the Box Office.

You will receive an email reminder a few days before your event with useful information.

Ropetackle tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable unless your event is cancelled.

Unfortunately, we cannot refund or credit bookings if you test positive for COVID.

We recommend following NHS guidance, avoiding contact with people for five days. You are welcome to pass your tickets on to friends or family.

A £1 per ticket booking fee applies online and over the phone, capped at £5 per transaction. There are no booking fees when booking in person.

Booking fees help cover the cost of the ticketing system. You can enjoy no booking fees by joining as a Gold or Platinum Patron.

Most shows are unallocated seating. Standing shows are clearly labelled.

The layout for seated shows varies between theatre style rows, and cabaret style with tables. The layout is often only decided on the week of the show. Family shows often have mats at the front for children to sit on.

Where a show is a mix of seating and standing, seats will be at the front, and standing will be at the back, unless specifically stated otherwise.

Seats labelled “Limited Visibility” are positioned around the edge of auditorium, with standing space in front of the stage. These events are primarily configured for standing and dancing.

All shows are general admission seating or standing, with the exception of the Christmas pantomime, which has a seating map and allocated seats, and select events where the front four rows allocated.

Seats cannot be reserved for general admission events unless you are a Patron, have specific access requirements, or are a group of 6+ (booked in a single transaction). If any of those apply, please contact the Box Office.

Seats in the auditorium are removable, so we can accommodate wheelchairs throughout.

To ensure easy access, we reserve wheelchair spaces on aisles. If you require a wheelchair space, please book directly with the Box Office on 01273 464440, or email access@ropetacklecentre.co.uk

If you have access requirements that necessitate an essential carer or personal assistant, please contact the Box Office on 01273 464440.

With the exception of Short Stories Tall Tales and other events specifically aimed at babies and pre-schoolers, infants aged 18 months and under may attend events for free, provided they sit on the lap of a parent or guardian.

Please note the age guidance of each event and be aware that, aside from family shows, many events are primarily suited for adult audiences.

Ticket prices are labelled clearly according to ticket type. Most seated shows will have one price labelled General Admission. Most standing shows will have one price labelled All Standing. Events with both seating and standing will have ticket prices for each zone, labelled accordingly.

Some events will have a price labelled Advance. Advance tickets are cheaper than tickets purchased on the door. Where Concession prices are offered, eligibility criteria will be stipulated.

Some shows offer Family of Four tickets. Family tickets admit two adults and two children, or one adult and three children. Child tickets are valid for children aged 16 and under.

Special offers and discounts are offered subject to availability and cannot be applied retrospectively. Only one discount may be applied per ticket.

We will automatically reserve seats together for groups of 6+ booked in a single transaction.

Unfortunately, we are unable to reserve seats for groups of 6+ booked across separate transactions.

Please note, group reservations will not be held beyond the show start time.

Ropetackle vouchers can used to purchase tickets for any Ropetackle show and are the perfect treat for friends and family. Click here to find out more.

Tickets and booking

Seating: To comply with social distancing guidance, seats for most shows now need to be chosen at the time of booking. The centre opens an hour before the start of a performance, and doors usually open between 15-30 minutes before the show. We recommend arriving at least half an hour before the start of a show.

Reservations: Under the new guidelines, we are not able to seat people in groups until further notice. If you have any special access or seating requirements, please let us know ahead of the show so we can accommodate your needs.

Group bookings: From 17 May – 21 June 2021, according to the government roadmap out of lockdown, the “rule of six” will apply. We have therefore limited group bookings to six maximum. Please do not book for two or more households; while two households may meet indoors under the guidance, distinct households must remain socially distanced. If you have already booked as part of two or more households, you must let us know so we can accommodate social distancing.

Fees: There is a £1 booking fee for tickets booked online and over the phone. Booking fees are capped at £5 so if you buy five tickets or more, you will only incur a £5 charge. There is no booking fee if you buy tickets in person from the Box Office. Some prices are shown inclusive of a venue levy, which supports the maintenance and running costs of the Centre.

Fulfilment: Physical tickets have been suspended during the pandemic in an effort to be contactless. You will be checked in by name upon arrival. There is a £1 charge for postage. Tickets are posted out 2nd class on the next working day. If the event taking place within eight days of booking, tickets will automatically be held for collection. You may also choose to collect your tickets, and this can be done at any time prior to the event, or on the night if you wish.

Refunds/Returns: All tickets purchased from Ropetackle Arts Centre are non-refundable and non-returnable unless your event is cancelled. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information.

Babes in arms: with the exception of Short Stories Tall Tales and other events specifically aimed at babies and preschoolers, babies aged 18 months and under may attend events for free, provided they sit on a parent’s lap. Parents should note the age guidance of each event and be aware that, aside from family shows, many events are more suitable for adult audiences. Please let us know via the comments box if you are bringing a baby.
