Greetings all film lovers and Film Club members, past and future, from the Film Club committee. We thought that you would appreciate an update about Film Club and what we are envisioning for the future.
We are planning for Season 9 to start in September 2021 and it will follow the format of our previous seasons. Films will be screened monthly at 7.30pm, usually on the second Thursday of each month from September 2021 to June 2022. Even though it seems a long time in the future, no harm in making plans for good things to look forward to.
We will offer you a mix of ten exciting and innovative films from every genre, including classic films, foreign films, comedies, dramas – films to make you wonder at the skill of the director, actor, screenwriter, cinematographer – films that will challenge you, make you laugh, make you cry, films that you may not have dreamed of seeing and films that you will love to revisit. And you will experience the thrill of watching film as it was meant to be seen, on a big screen with surround-sound in an audience of like-minded people. Magic.
Membership forms are available from different venues throughout Shoreham and surrounding areas, including the local libraries and the Ropetackle Box Office. And keep an eye on this page and our dedicated Ropetackle noticeboard for up-to-date details.

We offer members 10 free films from all genres (with extra members’ treats) for an annual fee of just £30. As a member, you are also entitled to bring a guest to any of the films for an extra £6. We have a huge cinema screen, true surround-sound and earphones for those who don’t hear so well.
Films are screened at 7.30pm on the second Thursday of each month from September to June. Feel free to arrive early to meet and chat with fellow film lovers and committee members in the convivial atmosphere that always precedes our films. There is usually a delicious pre-film supper from Lesley’s Kitchen available (please see the film page in What’s On for menu). The bar is always open, and you may take your drink into the auditorium.
