Film Club

Farewell for now, but we will be back!

It is with great regret that the Film Club committee have come to the conclusion that it’s no longer feasible to try to go ahead with the Film Club’s ninth season (2020/21) as planned. At the moment, we are looking ahead to the summer and planning a grand relaunch of our Film Club then.

We did not take this decision lightly and know that many of you will be as disappointed as we are but rest assured – we will be back as soon as we can see ahead to a safer and more assured future for cinema.

Can we take this opportunity to thank our members, past and present, for all the support and encouragement (and occasional brickbat!) you have given so freely during the past eight years? We have so enjoyed having the opportunity to share with you our mutual love for cinema and very much look forward to seeing you again when circumstances allow.

So it isn’t goodbye – it’s farewell for now.

Keep safe. Stay well.

We will be back.

Ropetackle Film Club Shoreham Movies Cinema

As well as the popular Ropetackle Cinema films, which are open to all, Ropetackle Film Club is an affordable and enjoyable cinema experience right on your doorstep for members only. We offer members 10 free films from all genres (with at least one bonus film per year) for an annual fee of just £30. As a member, you are also entitled to bring a guest to any of the films for an extra £5. We have a huge cinema screen, true surround-sound and earphones for those who don’t hear so well.

Films are screened at 7.30pm on the second Thursday of each month from September to June. Feel free to arrive early to meet and chat with fellow film lovers and committee members in the convivial atmosphere that always precedes our films. There is usually a delicious pre-film supper from Lesley’s Kitchen available (please see the film page in What’s On for menu). The bar is always open, and you may take your drink into the auditorium.

You will be made very welcome!
