About this event
Brighton based singer Sam has wowed audiences since bursting onto the scene some 10 or so years ago. Equally adept at singing with her Gypsy jazz group ‘Amuse Manouche’ here, Sam turns her attention to two greats of the post-war jazz vocalist; Ella Fitzgerald, lauded for her witty inventiveness and beautiful swinging vocal style and Anita O’Day, famous for her standout performance at the Newport jazz festival documented by the legendary movie ‘Jazz On A Summer’s Day’.
The house band is led by trumpeter Chris Coull, with the rhythm section led by stand-out pianist Mark Edwards, Paul Whitten on bass and Angus Bishop drums.
