About this event
David Attenborough
has spent his life bringing the natural world to our notice and wonder, in the
process becoming a national treasure. In this film he gives us yet another
wildlife spectacular, showing the world’s oceans in all
their glory.
But more than that,
he has lived through the greatest era of scientific discovery about those
oceans. Not just their abundant and spectacular life, but their essential role
in the stability and health of the Earth, and how it is now endangered by human
activity. Having literally been there to see it happen, he is perfectly placed
to bring the different aspects of that story together and present it to a wider
audience.
It’s not all doom and
gloom though – he also finds hope and inspiration, showing many places
whererecovery can be glimpsed, often
with human help.
