Step into the Story: The Magic of Theatre at Ropetackle

There’s something electric about a space this small and accessible. Every movement matters, every sound carries — and the audience is drawn right into the story.

It’s that intimacy that lies at the heart of our theatre programme, where we are known for presenting high-quality, professional work in an up-close setting. This season opened on Thursday 30 October with Revenge: After the Levoyah — a wild, witty Jewish heist comedy laced with sharp political satire —  and continues through to December 31st with the last Panto show.

Here’s what’s being shown in-between:

When Vincent Met John (Thursday 6th November) takes two of the greatest artists of their time, Van Gogh and Lennon, and imagines what would happen if they met? The play takes place at a time of crisis and decision for each artist, exploring, in an original way, love, death, art and legacy.

Discovering Antarctica (Saturday 15th November) A play that takes you to the edge of your seat and beyond as it re-enacts the heroic endeavours and human fortitude of Shackleton, Crean and Scott against the Antarctic elements.

Bark, Bark (Sunday 23rd November) is a howl of show ,and truly one of a kind – told from the perspective of a dog! When a young couple responds to a dog-sitting advert expecting a free holiday, they stumble into an unexpected tradition… Expect infectious songs, absurdist sketches and wild-eyed storytelling.

For the festive season, we present a fresh new take on Dicken’s A Christmas Carol (Wednesday 3rd December) – you’ll leave with your blood chilled, but your heart warmed – and of course, the much-loved Panto!

This year it’s Dick Whittington, so expect mayhem, mirth, and magic as we go off in search of adventure and treasure! Bring all the family and have the time of your lives! Runs 19th – 31st December and costs just £80 for a family ticket.

Ropetackle is a place where stories come alive — and you don’t want to miss a single moment.
