Ropetackle Storytellers: Gutted – Stories From East Anglia

About this event

Come all you fisher-folk and fill your guts with a hearty helping of folklore and folk music from East Anglia, descaled by award-winning storyteller Minnie Wilkinson. Prepare to be hooked by tales of ancient queens and bags of bones, hulls bursting with herring and something strange in the water – but that's another kettle of fish. One might even call it fishy. But don't worry about that for now. You're welcome here, so come in and warm your cockles. Just don't take more than your fair share – or someone will have your guts for garters.

"Delightful" ★★★★ – Fairy Powered Productions

"Joyous" ★★★★ – The Skinny

"Bright" ★★★★★ – Broadway World

Some say Minnie Wilkinson is an odd fish, but you can't deny she spins a good yarn. This London-based storyteller makes work that is both thought-provoking and whimsical, and regularly tells at theatres, festivals, museums, schools and back gardens. Minnie is a founding member of the Whitechapel Collective, and can usually be found telling a tale at their monthly open mike night at the London Hospital Tavern.
