The developing relationship between the Duke of York & future King George VI (Colin Firth) and his maverick Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush) is brilliantly explored in this celebrated film, winner of the 2010 best picture Oscar.
The Duchess, future Queen Consort and finally Queen Mother (Helena Bonham Carter) realises that her husband must conquer his public speaking stammer, even before he ascends to the throne, and she arranges for him to start seeing Logue – with great ultimate success despite many difficult moments.
