Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale follows the Crawley family in the 1930s as they navigate a financial crisis and a social scandal surrounding Lady Mary's divorce. Facing reputational ruin, the family must find a way to preserve their legacy, leading to Robert stepping back from his leadership role and Mary taking the reins as the true Lady of Downton Abbey. The film brings closure for many characters, including the retirement of Mr. Carson and Mrs. Patmore, and ends with a hopeful, albeit emotional, look towards Downton's future.
