“Born In Brighton” Breakfast Chamber

Ropetackle’s chairman Martin Allen was the guest speaker at the most recent Brighton Chamber of Commerce Breakfast on Friday 27th June.

The gathering of more than 60 business people and creatives at Bill’s heard how the erstwhile solicitor had moved into chairing the Trust of one of the most exciting arts venues on the south coast. Martin talked about the setting up of the centre, the journey from a modest programme to hosting some of the most well-known bands, comedians, speakers and shows in the country. That said, “community has always been at the heart of our ethos and as such we champion our local talent and rising stars,” he continued, “as well as offering a welcoming environment for visitors and those who offering activities.”

Sponsorship from local businesses has been a huge part of the Ropetackle’s success in recent years.

Martin explained that Ropetackle is celebrating its 18th birthday this year and encouraged the Chamber members to visit and enjoy one of the many shows coming up.

“Ropetackle has come of age,” he said, proudly “and we are really looking forward to the next stage.”
