‘Some heroes are real'
A hard-hitting action drama starring Ryan Gosling as a mechanic with a nice sideline as a Hollywood stunt driver and a getaway driver as well as becoming a race driver too. Needless to say, it's his criminal activity that provides most of the story, with a massive pawn shop heist involving the driver's neighbour (Carey Mulligan), her husband who has recently been released from jail and, it turns out, others within his multi-job circle. Amongst its many accolades, the film received four BAFTA nominations, including best film and best director.
