As a regular to the (Ropetackle) shores, and a great ambassador for jazz, the acclaimed vocalist has put together a weekend of talent and joy that is sure to light up your January!
Norma Winstone MBE, Emma Smith and Ian Shaw will each entertain on three separate evenings, all introduced by Claire and musically supported by the Mark Edwards Trio.
Tickets are available for each individual show, or you can buy a special Weekender ticket for just £49.50 which gets you entry to all three shows.
Norma has a career spanning over 50 years and has been an inspiration to generations of jazz vocalists and instrumentalists alike. An icon on the UK jazz scene, Norma is best known for her work with pianist John Taylor, and trumpeter Kenny Wheeler. With multi-awards under her belt, she promises to bring her own unique magic to Ropetackle.
Emma Smith is the new voice to hear on the UK jazz scene. An up and coming star vocalist with a great following in London, Emma will be making her Ropetackle debut with Claire Martin firmly championing her as she sings the Great American Songbook with her own soulful and bluesy delivery which is winning her fans all over the world. Emma is making sure the jazz flame is burning brightly and is in good hands.
Ian Shaw is a multi-award-winning singer, pianist, actor and stand-up comedian. He is internationally acclaimed and two-times winner of the BBC Jazz Awards Best Vocalist. Ian also presents a weekly radio show for Ronnie Scott’s and is one of the world’s finest male jazz vocalists with an extraordinary range and wonderful way with audiences. Guaranteed to have you eating out of the palm of his hand!
