Thank you for your interest in bringing your production to The Ropetackle.

The venue is a great, intimate space which is perfect for Music, Cabaret, Film, Theatre and other events.

The room is incredibly versatile and the capacities are:

  • 350 Standing
  • 220 Seated for Theatre / Spoken word / Film / Stand Up Comedy
  • 200 Seated for Music events
  • 160 for Children’s Theatre
  • 96 In the Round
  • 72 Thrust
  • Get In is usually from 4pm for an 8pm performance.
  • The venue is staffed by 1 x house technician throughout. They can operate either sound / lights.
  • The stage is made of decking and is set at 60cm high x 6m wide x 3m deep.  It can be extended to 5m deep.
  • There is a black skirt across the front.
  • Height to grid from stage: 340cm
  • There is 13amp power available throughout the venue.
  • All lighting is on fixed LX bars with 15amp outlets.

Dressing Room

There is 1 x dressing room available equipped with a shower, mirrors, lights, iron and board, fridge, kettle and microwave.

Load in and Parking

The load-in is adjacent to stage. There is flat access into the room.

Vans (splitter size and smaller) can be parked in the public car park 25 metres from the venue. It is pay to park but not very expensive and there are no time restrictions.

Smaller vehicles can park over the bridge but a height barrier is in place.

Larger vehicles must be parked elsewhere.

Health and Safety

You and each member of your team must take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourselves and all other people who may be affected by the work you do at Ropetackle during your occupancy. You must comply with the Duty Manager / House Technician’s instructions concerning health and safety. In particular, you must adhere to the venue’s procedures for the safe use of electricity and substances potentially hazardous to health.

Every company will be required to provide a copy of their current Public Liability Insurance along with a complete Production Risk Assessment for the production and submit it to the Centre Manager before gaining access to the venue.

For Pyro / Smoking / Fire / Lasers / Hypnotism / Weaponry / Naked Flame, Ropetackle requires at least 28 working days’ notice for local authority permissions. Please supply full RAM’s with notification.
