Ropetackle Arts Centre is a multi-award-winning, community-led arts venue
that attracts some of the biggest and best performing arts in the UK to
We provide a year-round high-quality programme of live music, theatre,
comedy, talks, film and workshops for all ages, attracting audiences in excess
of 40,000 a year. People also visit Ropetackle for community events, schools
activities and our café.
In 12 years we have developed from a start-up venue to a much-loved cultural
destination with a turnover of more than £600,000. More than 80 regular
volunteers support a small staff team.
Ropetackle Arts Centre has reached a pivotal stage, and the trustees are
intending to appoint a Chief Executive – a new role with overall responsibility
for the management of the venue and for leading the next phase of its
Candidates should have excellent leadership and communication skills and
experience of managing an arts venue or similar organisation, including
financial management and grant funding. The role will include:
- Management of facilities (including building maintenance, health and safety,
- insurance, security, licensing)
- Management of staff
- Managing and working with volunteers
- Financial management including annual budget, forecasts, and performance
- Business planning and income generation
- Arts programming
- Managing a community outreach programme
- Building partnerships and collaborative relationships
Salary in the region of £35,000 per year according to experience.
