Sussex Wildlife Trust, CPRE & Shoreham Wordfest presents What have plants ever done for us?
A Ropetackle Fundraising Event
Plants are more than just attractive scenery. They are the basis of all life on the planet, from the air we breathe to the food we eat and even the stability of our climate. The world would look very different without plants. This talk looks at how plants are central to our very existence.
Dr Tony Whitbread is President of the Sussex Wildlife Trust. Tony was at the forefront in promoting the need for the establishment of the South Downs National Park. He also played a leading role in establishing the Sussex Biodiversity Record Centre, which holds almost seven million species records – information used to inform planning decisions.
This talk is sponsored by Sussex Wildlife Trust and CPRE, the Countryside Charity. It is a continuation of the Ending the War on Nature talks which were paused due to the national Covid Lockdown in March 2020. Existing ticket holders have been contacted.
The fifth and final talk in the series will take place during the annual Shoreham Wordfest in October 2021.
