The Men They Couldn’t Hang + Barnstormer 1649
Friday 27th July 2018 - Starts 8pm
TICKET PRICE: £15 (some seating available)
Music for Diggers, Levellers and Ranters!
A welcome return for Glastonwick and Ropetackle favourites The Men They Couldn’t Hang, who for 34 years have combined stirring, anthemic music and intelligent, inspirational words, often with historical themes (‘Ironmasters’, ‘Ghosts Of Cable Street’ ‘The Colours’). With their new album ‘Cock A Hoop’ due for release, they are as feistily irreverent – and relevant – as ever.
A band to make you dance and think at the same time.
Support comes from Attila the Stockbroker’s brand-new Barnstormer 1649, who combine early music and punk with songs and tunes set around the time of the English Civil War and Commonwealth, but very much with an eye for what’s happening now.
Featuring the crumhorn, cornamuse, shawm, five different recorders, violin, viola, mandola, mandocello, guitar, bass, drums and words.
We're serving delicious food before this event from 6pm! Mains cost £8, desserts £3.00, or the two-course meal for £10.00. Advance booking necessary, to do so simply email firstname.lastname@example.org. Click on the icon to see what's on the menu.
