The Alter Eagles
Saturday 7th July 2018 - Starts 8pm
TICKET PRICE: £16/£14
Trade the south coast for southern California for an evening; revisiting a time when country-rock was king.
The Sussex-based Alter Eagles return to Ropetackle for the 10th year running, bringing with them their authentic two-hour tribute to The Eagles.
Expect duelling lead guitar breaks, sweet country harmonies and all your favourite Eagles’ songs, including Hotel California, Take it Easy, Tequila Sunrise, New Kid in Town, Lyin’ Eyes, Take it to the Limit, Heartache Tonight, Life in the Fast Lane, Wasted Time and Desperado.
The band members’ key solo work also gets an outing, so watch out for showstoppers like Joe Walsh’s Rocky Mountain Way and Life’s Been Good, as well as Don Henley’s 80s monster smash, Boys of Summer.
‘For years, Ropetackle has been the closest we get to a local gig, and it’s really nice to play to your home crowd,’ says bassist Rob Beattie, ‘The venue does a great job promoting all kinds of live music and we always look forward to coming back here.’
Together for 14 years, the Alter Eagles enjoy the music as much now as they did when they started out. As guitarist Jay Stezaker says: ‘The Eagles made everything sound so simple, but when you pick their music apart, you realise how much is going on and what
great songs they really are.’
