The Jack Kendon Quartet With Imogen Ryall + Alex Garnett’s ‘Bunch Of Five’

The Jack Kendon Quartet Feat. Imogen Ryall | 8-9pm

Led by trumpeter Jack Kendon, this group is an exciting collection of talented young musicians bursting with energy, passion, and creativity. Delighting audiences with their combination of standards and original compositions, this band has its roots firmly in the traditions of jazz, blues, and soul.

They will be joined by Imogen Ryall, a favourite from last year’s festival when she appeared with Mark Edwards’ ‘Cloggz’, Imogen performs regularly with her own trio at venues and festivals across the UK.

Alex Garnett’s ‘Bunch Of Five’ | 9.30-10.30pm

Alex Garnett’s ‘Bunch Of Five’ was formed in 2013 and features Alex Garnett (tenor sax), Brandon Allen (tenor sax), Liam Noble (piano), Michael Janisch (double bass), and James Maddren (drums). They have already enjoyed two nationwide tours of the UK including performances at Ronnie Scott’s and a live recording for BBC Radio 3.

‘Bunch Of Five’ aim to bring the duelling saxophone line-up of yesteryear to the new territory of contemporary jazz and improvised music. Strongly rooted in hard grooving swing and historic jazz, the ensemble blend their eclectic tastes and experiences, tackling exciting and original repertoire and offering a fresh take on the two-tenor tradition.
