Songwriters’ Circle – Protest Song Special

Long Way Home Productions makes a welcome return with a special event featuring some the cream of UK’s songwriting talent, focusing on the art of the protest song.

Featuring the talents of Naomi Bedford, Paul Simmonds, Attila the Stockbroker and Robb Johnson, this will be the chance to hear some fine performances from each artist, hear something of the background to their creativity and witness the process as they interact on stage.

Robb Johnson is widely recognised as one of the UK’s finest songwriters.“An English original”, (Robin Denselow, the Guardian) … “one of our best singer-songwriters ever”(Mike Harding)… “one of this country’s most important songwriters (no argument!)” (fROOTS).

Naomi Bedford and Paul Simmonds original songwriting has led them to be nominated for a Radio 2 Folk Award and as the Guardian Album of the Month. Paul is the chief songwriter with legendary folk rock band The Men They Couldn’t Hang.

Attila the Stockbroker exploded into public consciousness in the early 1980s via two John Peel sessions and a Melody Maker front cover, poet, musician, journalist and political activist, Attila The Stockbroker, has spent forty years touring the world performing his unique brand of spoken word, poetry and music.
