Shoreham Wordfest: Poetry & Short Story Slam

Sunday 15th October 2017 -

Wordfest Short Story Poetry Slam Shoreham Ropetackle
Wordfest Short Story Poetry Slam Shoreham Ropetackle

An evening of literary fun, where a panel of judges and the audience hear original short stories and poems read by their writers, who stand to gain prizes.

This year’s slam will be hosted by author Tom Cutler. Judges Tess Jolly and Alistair Davies will pick names from a poetry or prose hat. These lucky writers will be invited on stage to read their pieces. During the interval, the judges will decide on the winner and runners-up in each section. Winning entries will be published by Shoreham Wordfest after the event.

If you would like to enter: please submit a copy of your unpublished poem or story (deadline: Friday 29th September) to shorehamwordfest@yahoo.co.uk – titled ‘Slam Entry’.

All entries will be read and at least half selected go into the hat. Pieces should last no more than five minutes when read aloud.
