Shoreham Wordfest: Chopping Chillies
Friday 6th October 2017 -
Written and performed by Clair Whitefield. Directed by Olivier award-winning Guy Masterson.
Chopping Chillies is a mystical tale of love, loss and soul-food told through poetry, storytelling and spoken word. Journeying from a kitchen in south India to a cobbler’s shop in Camden Town, this heartwarming solo show, features a line-up of exotic misfits, whose lives intertwine in surprising and unexpected ways.
Chopping Chillies tells the tale of Ajna Jan, a martial artist from Kerala, who inherits his uncle’s cobbler’s shop in Camden Town and his unlikely friendship with Katie, a young woman who runs the Indian street food café next door and how this relationship changes both their lives.
