Shady Grove + Friends

Sea dogs and troubadours with Shady Grove and friends.

Join us for an exciting evening of epic musical variety and excellence in the company of Shady Grove and special guests. Featuring Laura Ward, Love Minus Zero, The Wellington Wailers, plus compere Captain Mike Green.

Shady Grove are rooted in the folk community of Shoreham. Formed in 2011, their popularity has steadily grown both regionally and further afield, fuelled by their ability to weave in and out of genres while retaining a strong sense of togetherness, expertise and improvisation. They fuse elements of country, soul, folk and Americana.

The Wellington Wailers are well established in the local folk scene. A group of like-minded sea dogs, they have revitalised the singing of traditional sea shanties and songs. When fully manned, the Wailers can muster up to 16 members!

Love Minus Zero consists of five local musicians who all share a common passion for the music of Bob Dylan; both his early and later work. The band consists of Mervyn Wallis, Marie Dance, Jed Cutler, Ray Chandler, and Adam Ronchetti.

Completing the line-up is special guest Laura Ward, described as “one of the most pure, charming and elegant voices on the circuit today” (Artree Magazine) and “a… more melodious Maddy Prior” (FATEA Magazine).
