Session 1: the fundamentals of press and marketing with Mark Phillips.
Ropetackle has launched a new series supporting professional development for artists and musicians. The first session will cover the fundamentals of press and marketing, including setting up and maintaining a website, writing press releases and securing meaningful media coverage, tips for designing effective posters and flyers, identifying and communicating with your target audience, social media tactics, distribution, and more.
Led by Ropetackle’s marketing manager Mark Phillips, this session is particularly geared towards self-promoting/unsigned artists, local concert promoters, and independent arts practitioners from a wide range of genres. Mark will draw upon his expertise marketing 250+ shows a year (including theatre, comedy and literary-based events), plus his experience as a musician performing with several bands.
This event takes place in the Ropetackle mezzanine. Space is limited so book early.
Runs 12-2pm, including a short break. £10, £8 students (current student card required).
