Richard Durrant’s Spring Concert 2021

Guitarist and composer Richard Durrant returns to Ropetackle to kick off his first solo tour in over a year.

This spring concert includes music from his latest album Rewilding, which was recorded during lockdown. “Throughout all that has happened, the concept of rewilding (nature’s path of least resistance) has held my interest,” Richard says. “Many ideas for beautiful sounds and combinations of instruments arrived as a consequence, including turtle doves, contra-bassoon, nightingales, cello, cuckoos, ukuleles, oboe and berimbau. They’re all there on the new album.”

Once he’s entertained the Shoreham crowd, Richard will get on his bicycle and carry out his Midsummer concert tour, which goes from Orkney to Brighton.”
