Kansas in 1936 is a difficult time for everyone, but nine-year-old Addie (Tatum O'Neal, who won an Oscar in her first screen role) is now newly orphaned and is attending her mother's funeral. There she runs into con artist Moses Pray (played by real-life father Ryan O'Neal) and the two begin a road trip adventure, travelling in an old Ford Model 'A' to Addie's aunt in Missouri. Is that the end of the story? Perhaps…!
