Nine Below Zero

Nine Below Zero are one of Britain’s most celebrated rhythm and blues bands, famous for their no-frills, punchy and direct approach. With numerous albums under their belt and links to the likes of The Rolling Stones and Squeeze, Nine Below Zero remain a national institution within the UK’s live music scene.

Nine Below Zero will be playing with the classic line-up of all four original band members; Dennis Greaves (guitar/vocals), Mark Feltham (harmonica), Mickey ‘Stix’ Burkey (drums), and Brian Bethell (bass).

Rewind to the late 1970s and Nine Below Zero trace their roots to Stan’s Blues Band, formed by Dennis Greaves and Mark Feltham. Having quickly developed a reputation as an unmissable live act, in 1979 they changed their name to Nine Below Zero in tribute to a song by legendary blues artist Sonny Boy Williamson, a reflection of the blues flavour to their sound.

Throughout their career Nine Below Zero have performed and recorded alongside many great artists and also appeared on the first ever episode of BBC TV’s anarchic comedy hit The Young OnesIn 1994 they supported Eric Clapton at The Royal Albert Hall, and in 1995 Hollywood star Bruce Willis even invited Nine Below Zero to play with him in London after the première of his film 12 Monkeys.
