Kate’s Kitchen Band: Christmas Ceilidh
Thursday 7th December 2017 -
Kate’s Kitchen Band play music that will get you dancing! They believe in giving the audience a good time. And the ‘caller’ teaches all dances, so no prior knowledge is needed. For this event, the caller will be Whispering Dave, a veteran of ceilidh calling and well known in dance circles. And we only pick the best! English traditional music is enjoying a real revival and Kate’s Kitchen Band are riding the crest of this wave.
Kate’s Kitchen Band are at the fun end of the spectrum with a line-up as eclectic as it is varied, from top end piccolo to acoustic double bass, melodeons (button accordion), fiddles, percussion, guitar and mandolin. Their heritage comes from English, Welsh, French, Scottish, Irish and American traditional tunes and dances – Morris and Celtic – a foot-tapping mixture of sounds from start to finish.
Christmas crackers and mince pies supplied!
