Jazz Breakfast With Mike Hatchard (Nov)
From docklands to New York…
With an international singing career spanning 45 years and several appearances on British TV variety shows with the greats of the UK light entertainment industry, it is frankly astonishing that British crooner Paul Rhodes waited until his 70th birthday to perform in America for the first time. But as Rhodes explains, he has built his career on long term residencies. He has notched up thousands of performing hours, routinely delivering two or three sets a night at London’s top nightspots. His recent performances at the Metropolitan Room Manhattan, Swing 46 at Times Square, and Birdland Jazz Club made it clear that Rhodes is still flourishing. Having previously worked with Mike Hatchard at Surrey Docks, the two have teamed up to produce a new show celebrating a life in song.
