Hits of ’69

Saturday 7th September 2019 - Starts 8pm

After a triumphant sold-out gig celebrating No.1’s of 1968, the Brighton Beach Boys are back to play the hits of 69.

1969 saw David Bowie release Space Oddity, nine days before Neil Armstrong became the first man on the moon, the legendary Woodstock music festival was held in the USA, Monty Python formed, B&Q first opened, the Raleigh Chopper bike was launched, the death penalty was abolished in the UK, QE2 made her maiden voyage, Violet and Daisy Hilton, the conjoined twins born in Brighton and made famous Hollywood film freaks, died, the halfpenny ceased to be legal tender and it also marked the birth of the Internet!

No.1’s in the UK hit parade included ‘I heard it Through The Grape Vine’, ‘Get Back’, ‘Sugar, Sugar’, ‘Honky Tonk Woman’, ‘Something in the Air’, among other great songs.

The Band includes Glen Richardson, Steve Wrigley, Charlotte Glasson and Adrian Marshall. Come along and sing along!
