“Refreshingly modern” ~ Rolling Stone
Well known for his work with Cahalen Morrison, Tim O’Brien, Jayme Stone and others, Seattle based folk singer and multi-instrumentalist Eli oozes talent. Hailed by the likes of Martin Simpson and Richard Hawley, Eli’s music utilises a mix of electric and acoustic guitars, banjo, and pedal steel to create a truly sublime and captivating sound.
His recent solo album ‘The Both’ focuses on the story of his two grandfathers; one a decorated WW2 prisoner of war, the other a Brethren preacher and peace advocate. In this spirit, the theme of the album is duality: the first half showcases carefully built arrangements of six American folk songs, the second revisits these as instrumental passages, revealing them in a new light.
Eli stands at the forefront of contemporary folk, re-imagining old traditions in new ways. Expect a sensational show from a truly ground-breaking musician.
