Dana Gillespie and the London Blues Band

Dana Gillespie made her first record in 1964 and is still recording. After 55 years in music and over 70 albums, Dana is well qualified to sing the blues. A career that combined radio, theatre, film and sport (she was once British junior water-skiing champion) with music, Dana has been in the public eye since recording her first album at the age of 15. Her music has evolved from folk in the 60s through 70s Bowie-esque glam-rock to the raunchy in-your-face blues she performs today.

In the 1970s, Dana performed as the first Mary Magdalene in the West End musical Jesus Christ Superstar. David Bowie wrote the song ‘Andy Warhol’ for which she was the vocalist on the ‘Ziggy Stardust’ album.

In 2019, she released the album Under My Bed for Ace Records and in January 2021, published her memoirs –Weren’t Born a Man – to great reviews.

Dana will be accompanied by The London Blues Band, who are considered to be the cream of the London Blues scene.

This show was originally scheduled for 16th October 2020 and then 8th May 2021. Tickets bought for these events remain valid.
