“Sensitive vocals with a very personal musical approach, she makes great songs all her own” ~ Gregory Porter
As much as she loves fronting big bands, award-winning jazz singer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare Teal still revels in performing intimate shows accompanied by piano.
From upbeat swing to sublime ballads, Clare’s duo concerts are renowned for their fabulous arrangements interspersed with Clare’s warm and witty storytelling, guaranteeing a uniquely personal experience.
Her rich jazz infused repertoire explores timeless classics penned by legendary musical storytellers, from giants of the great American and British songbooks, through to contemporary writers crafting the standards of today, plus Clare’s own original compositions.
Expect music from the likes of Cole Porter, Billy Strayhorn, Rodgers & Hammerstein and Sting, as well as jazz divas Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson and Peggy Lee.
As one of the UK’s greatest interpreters of song and a much-loved performer, Clare promises a sparkling night of inspired music and unbridled entertainment.
