Brighton Beach Boys celebrate the 50th anniversary of Paul McCartney’s album Band on the Run.
After The Beatles disbanded, McCartney debuted as a solo artist and went on to form the band Wings with his wife, Linda, and Denny Laine of The Moody Blues.
Under McCartney’s leadership, Wings became one of the most successful bands of the 1970s. He wrote or co-wrote their US or UK number-one hits, such as My Love, Band on the Run, Listen to What the Man Said, Silly Love Songs, and Mull of Kintyre.
Band on the Run (1973) is the third studio album. With two hit singles, this was the first critical success for McCartney post-Beatles, and it remains McCartney’s most successful album from this period.
This evening will feature songs from the album, a selection of his other hits, and favourites from 1970 onwards.
