“Virtuoso multi-instrumentalist” ~ The Times
Sitar master Baluji Shrivastav OBE performs a special evening of mesmerising Indian classical music with tabla accompaniment. Enjoy an extraordinary musical experience from the sounds of the sub-continent.
One of India’s greatest instrumentalists, Baluji is a blind musician who excels at the sitar, dilruba and tabla. Described as “sitarist to the stars” (Evening Standard), Baluji has worked with the likes of Massive Attack, Stevie Wonder and Coldplay, as well as many of India’s finest artists including Ustad Faiyaz Khan, Anindo Chatterjee and Akram Khan.
With eight albums released, Baluji was awarded an OBE for services to music in 2016. He also leads the Inner Vision Orchestra – the UK’s only blind and visually impaired music ensemble.
