The launch of new album “Restoration Tragedy”
Ropetackle is a fitting location for Southwick poet and multi-instrumentalist Attila to launch his new album with his brand-new band. The story of Charles 2nd’s escape to France from Shoreham in 1651 is well-known around here, but it’s told for the first time from the point of view of the Levellers and radicals who wanted to catch him and end the monarchy for once and for all! The songs really fit the period – early music meets acoustic punk, played on crumhorn, cornamuse, strings and recorders, guitar, bass and drums.
Preceded by a set of Attila’s fiery and thoroughly-modern poetry.
