African Night Fever Presents: Djouna Mumbafu – Christmas Party!

African Night Fever bring the party vibes of tropical Kinshasa with Djouna Mumbafu and Orchestra Big One. A nine-piece band with dancers of African soukous and rumba.
Djouna Mumbafu started his career as a dancer in one of the most prominent bands of Kinshasa – Empire Bakuba. He later rose to become one of the most influential members of the late Pépé Kallé’s band before pursuing his own solo career. His first album Tonnerre de Brest, released in 2004, was a huge hit earning him a nomination at the KORA Awards.
Djouna has since gone on to revolutionise soukous and rumba with his own style of mesmerising guitar riffs and dance moves, earning him the title “atalaku” – a key and enlivening figure in Congolese music.
