A Lowland Cinderella
1921 British silent romance directed by Sidney Morgan, filmed on location at Progress Film’s Shoreham Beach Studio, the first and only film studio in West Sussex, and restored in 1995. Starring Sidney’s daughter Joan Morgan alongside Ralph Forbes and George Foley, the film tells Hestor’s story of misfortune, manipulation, love and redemption which mirrors that of Cinderella.
Cinema Plus: the screening is introduced by film historian Dr Frank Gray (University Of Brighton) and the Shoreham musician Richard Durrant who composed the film score which will be heard on the night.
