Unforgettable, unmissable, masterful cinema.
On April 6th 1917, three years into WW1, two young British corporals in northern France are tasked with delivering a life-saving message to a distant battalion of 1,600 men who will fall into a seismic ambush if they are not warned in time. To reach them the soldiers must negotiate life-threatening enemy territory.
1917 is thick with atmosphere. The sound design is off the scale. And the camerawork engulfs the film.
Directed by Sam Mendes, this film won Oscars for Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects and Best Sound Mixing.
