Could You Be A Ropetackle Trustee?

The application process for this opportunity is now closed.

Following our recent successful public fundraising appeal, and having secured a 3 year funding agreement with Adur Council, the award-winning Ropetackle Arts Centre is looking for new Trustees to support and guide the organisation through its next exciting phase of development.

Ropetackle Centre Trust is a registered charity (no. 1109381) run by a Board of unpaid Trustees, for the benefit of the community.

Since opening in 2007 it has become firmly established as one of the leading arts centres in the south of England, regularly receiving high praise from artists, their agents and the media, and winning many awards including the Evening Argus “Going Out Award” as the best theatre or arts venue (2014) as well as Sussex Life Entertainment Venue of the Year (2016).  The Centre was shortlisted for the 2017 Adur and Worthing Business Awards and this year won Best Sussex Theatre and Arts Venue – Muddy Stilettos Awards 2019.

We are looking for a range of skills or experience, including:

However, such skills or experience are not essential, and we also want to ensure greater diversity, particularly in terms of age and ethnicity.

Above all, we are looking for people who are interested in being involved in running a vibrant arts centre, and who are prepared to give a certain amount of time. And we would welcome people with good contacts and general experience – in the community, in the arts, in business, or in the charity or educational sectors.

You should expect to attend regular Board meetings as well as various other events and meetings. However, the commitment of time can be limited according to availability.
