The Paul Holdstock Lecture Part 2: Cuba From The 60s To 90s
Thursday 7th February 2013 - Starts 7pm
TICKET PRICE: £4.00
In the wake of the breakdown in trust between Havana and Moscow following the Cuban Missile Crisis, relationships were patched up after Fidel Castro made a long visit to the USSR. After this visit Cuba would receive more and more Soviet advice and assistance until the break-up of the Soviet Union led to a loss over 80% of Cuba’s trade and a period of economic hardship called ‘The Special Period‘. Expert lecturer Paul Holdstock examines this key period in his own accessible yet informative style.
This event takes place in the Ropetackle Mezzanine.
