Expert lecturer Paul Holdstock examines the build up to the Cuban Missile Crisis, from the failed landing at the ‘bay of pigs’ to the Soviet decision to escalate military assistance in Cuba to nuclear level as well as the events of the crisis itself in October 1962. The outcome to the crisis resulted in a sharp deterioration in relations between Castro and Khrushchev.
