Continuing the institution of song collection, Brighton-based Hickory Signals Project is undertaking an open-ended mission based upon collaboration and inspiration to collate the work of unsigned artists drawing from the traditional cannon. This concert will be the jumping off point to celebrate musicians from the local area and to tell more people about the project.

The Hickory Signals Project presents an evening of collaborative music courtesy of a host of talented, local performers. From versatile multi-instrumentalist Ray Chandler and his distinctive 5-string banjo, to the sounds of traditional Breton hurdy-gurdy and melodeon from Max and Bill Sweatman. From Liz Culham’s contemporary repertoire to classical-inspired original compositions from pianist, Sam Tannenbaum. Completing the tapestry, Ropetackle regulars, Laura Ward & The Risen Road, take to the stage for a set of power folk and Celtic trad with a little help from their friends.
