Mike Hatchard Jazz Breakfast Shoreham Ropetackle

The late John Dankworth, a man who worked with Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, and Duke Ellington said of Paul Hart, ‘if I ever saw the human incarnation of genius, Paul was it.’ Legendary in the music business for making his début on PIANO at Carnegie Hall playing for Cleo Laine when he was merely nineteen (after having previously been her bass player) Paul then demonstrated that he was also a brilliant violinist, regarded by Ike Isaacs (who toured with Grappelli) as the world’s best.

So how come you (probably) haven’t heard of him? Apart from a period with legendary band Sky, most of Paul’s stunning career has been spent in the studio working arduously but fairly anonymously. You will have undoubtedly have heard his music – he has written literally thousands of scores that have been played in films and TV. Mike Hatchard always enjoys Sunday lunchtime concerts at the Ropetackle but he is especially looking forward to this one.
