Spoken Word,

Shoreham WordFest: Scotch Mist & Brighton Belles

Saturday 28th September 2013 - Starts 2pm

WordFest Sue SarahW
WordFest Sue SarahW

Crime and mystery authors Sara Sheriden and Sue Walker in conversation.

Sara Sheridan is an Edinburgh-based historical novelist who writes two different kinds of books. One is a series of cosy crime noir mysteries set in Brighton in the 1950s – Brighton Belle and London Calling – and the other is a set of novels based on the real-life stories of late Georgian and early Victorian explorers and adventurers (1820 – 1845) – The Secret Mandarin and Secret Of The Sands.

Sue Walker was born in Edinburgh and now lives in our own fair town of Shoreham-By-Sea, but her gritty crime novels The Dead Pool, The Reckoning, and The Burning are based in Scotland. Sue was for many years an investigative television journalist, specializing in crime-related documentaries.

Their conversation will cover the inspiration for their writing, why a Scot writes about Brighton, and an expat Scot based on the South Coast writes about Scotland.

Afternoon tea and cakes will be available afterwards in the Ropetackle foyer with chat and book signings. Refreshments provided by Thunkshop Café.
