Max Egremont talks about his new book, Some Desperate Glory, the story of World War 1 through the lives and words of its poets, in conversation with Professor Clive Webb, University Of Sussex’s Dean Of History, with poetry readings by actor Julian Wadham (The English Patient, The Iron Lady).

Shoreham’s town centre 11th Century church, is a fitting environment for poignant poetry which still has the capacity to move us in this centenary year of “the war to end all wars”.

This event is being promoted in partnership with the Campaign For The Protection Of Rural England. Max is the president of CPRE Sussex.

Location: St. Mary de Haura Church
Shoreham-By-Sea, BN43 5DQ
