Allons Danser 2!

Rough Chowder return to Ropetackle for an evening of Cajun music and dance.

Cajun music is dance music, whether played in the dancehall, on the back porch or in a field during Mardi Gras. The beautiful melodies of the accordion and fiddle playing the Cajun two step and waltz mixed with foot stomping swamp blues and Zydeco are guaranteed to transport you to the bayous of Louisiana.

Fronted by husband and wife, Ian and Cheryl McIlroy, Rough Chowder have been honing their Cajun sound at folk clubs and festivals, whilst amassing a following within the UK and European scene. Joining them are Mervyn Wallis (fiddle), Andrew Craggs (guitar), Orlando Shearer (double bass), and Chris Pilkington (drums).

Dance Workshop: 7.30pm – 8.30pm. Limited seating.
