Thursday 1st May 2014 - Starts 7.30pm
As a world class guitar strummer travelling in excess of 30,000 miles each year with UK tours, forays into Europe, and an annual visit to South America, Richard finds it impossible to do anything but cast an almighty carbon footprint.
Well, that’s all set to change. After tonight’s gig Richard gets on his bike for a ground-breaking British tour aiming to play between 40 – 50 gigs at venues great and small during a seven-week, 1,000-mile odyssey that will be the last word in eco-friendliness.
Cycling up to 50 miles a day, Richard will be carrying his entire show on his bike. Each performance will still feature beautiful lighting, projections and sound, but the gear will be state of the art, low energy, and lightweight and the entire production will be run using two iPhones. Come and hear this particularly English musical event and then wave Richard off.
The tour ends on June 20th with a special Ropetackle concert and celebration.
Our Thunkshop Cafe will be serving delicious pre-show suppers from 6pm. Advance booking is recommended but not essential, please contact Sarah on 07957 166092 for further details and to book.
