Dave Berry… a great showman with memorable hit songs and one of the best performers on the British Rock ‘n Roll scene who celebrated 50 years in the business in 2011!
The man who made his name in the swinging sixties is still belting out his hits five decades later, showing no sign of slowing down. Although pop was the basis for his hitmaking Sixties career, Dave Berry has always been a fervent R’n’B enthusiast. Originally from Sheffield and influenced by Chuck Berry and Gene Vincent, Dave developed his own unique vocal style and was subsequently signed by Decca Records with Mickie Most and Mike Smith producing. Longevity speaks for itself and the quality of the distinctive Dave Berry voice tells its own story with power blues and more laid-back material with a contemporary feel. His popularity is down not only to talent but a deep connection with his fans – he’s a great ambassador for pop’s golden age and enjoys the genuine X Factor which makes him an icon to many. His massive hit The Crying Game brought deserved fame to this much respected artist and Dave has continued to work extensively since the 60s.
Today he’s not only a superb, skilled vocalist but a very charismatic performer.
