Due to a terminal illness in her immediate family, Bonnie Dobson is hugely sorry to announce that her whole tour has had to be cancelled. We hope to be able to reschedule the date. Bonnie sends her apologies to everyone.

“Dobson’s voice is singular, sweet and strong, energised by her band… the result is a tender and engaging listen.” ~ MOJO

Canadian born folk star Bonnie Dobson has lived in the UK since the late 60s and had effectively retired from the music scene (despite an appearance at Jarvis Cocker’s Meltdown back in 2007) until she began recording a new album in the summer of 2013. Now, in 2014 she is back touring and brings her amazing live show to Ropetackle.

Bonnie is spectacular! She has a great voice and fantastic presence – a truly beautiful person. Her song Morning Dew has become a key folk standard that has moved beyond the folk scene, covered by a host of artists including The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers, Lulu, Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart, and Robert Plant to name just a few!

Bonnie was a key figure in the 60s folk revival and was involved with the influential Greenwich Village scene. Time Magazine bracketed her together with Joan Baez and Judy Collins as one of the three top female folk singers in America.
